BEE CITY HONEYBEE FARM &
 PETTING ZOO, & BEE CITY CAFE

    BEE CITY is just a stone's throw from the beautiful Edisto River just three miles north of Givhans State Park on Hwy. 61, near Givhans, between Summerville, SC and Walterboro, SC.
     We focus on educating the public on the importance of honeybees. You can schedule a FIELD TRIP with a group of 15 or more or just visit on your own. Our classroom contains beekeeping equipment and learning materials, as well as a glass observation bee hive. Get a close look at the workers, drones, and the queen.
     The PETTING ZOO at Bee City has become quite an attraction. Our petting zoo consists of domestic and exotic animals, which include deer, monkeys, lemurs, wallabies, alpacas and llamas.
     Our NATURE CENTER features snakes from SC as well as lizards, turtles, frogs & alligators. It's an enjoyable educational experience
     Our GIFT SHOP contains our own locally produced honey, bee pollen, and beeswax. We make our own beeswax skin cream, beeswax hand and body lotion, beeswax lip balm. We also make many beeswax candles and figurines. Some of our specialties include chocolate covered honey, spun honey, and honeycomb.
     In our CAFE, we serve old fashion hamburgers, hot dogs, sandwiches and fries.

     The LOWCOUNTRY BEEKEEPERS meet here at Bee City the third Thursday of each month, except July. We meet at 7 PM. Call 843-835-5912 for more infomation.
